The prerequisites for many courses—especially General Education courses—are listed below the course titles in the schedule. Not all of the prerequisites for all courses, including some upper-level courses, are listed, however. Always check the prerequisites in the catalog or with the appropriate department before enrolling in any course. A student cannot depend on the computer to prevent enrollment in a course for which the student is not eligible. A WVSU student who enrolls in a course without meeting the prerequisites risks being administratively withdrawn from the course.
Transient students from other colleges and universities are expected to meet the equivalent WVSU prerequisites for any course in which they enroll at WVSU. Transient students should check the WVSU schedule and also the WVSU catalog (online at www.wvstateu.edu) to be certain they are aware of all course prerequisites. Transient students should be prepared to demonstrate completion of these prerequisites at the time of registration to obtain permission from the department chair to enroll in the course or outset of the course, ordinarily by providing a transcript (official or unofficial) from the home institution. If the student is uncertain whether a course at the home institution satisfies a prerequisite the student should consult with the appropriate WVSU department chair prior to enrollment.
